CT Marine is proud to be the only first nations led tug and barge company on the coast of British Columbia. CT Marine is a joint venture between Rupert Coast Sort and the Lax Kw Alaams Business Development Corporation.

Rupert Coast Sort is a multi generational, family run, log booming and towing company founded in and operated from Prince Rupert. Lax Kw Alaams Business Development Corporation is responsible for business development for the first nations people of Lax Kw Alaams.

Our main office is located at, 100 1st Avenue East, Prince Rupert BC, V8J
Our operations head quarters are a floating office which is located at McLean’s Ship Yards in Prince Rupert.

OUR EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES

CT Marine currently has two large tug boats, two large ramp barges at our disposal. In addition, we have available several other tugs boats and work boats (dozer boats).

CT CHINOOK

CT CHINOOK

Our primary Tug, and our largest, is the CT Chinook. The CT Chinook is a 48 foot, twin screw tug with approximately 1000 hp. The CT Chinook has a registered gross tonnage of 40.84 t.

GULF PRINCE

GULF PRINCE

The Gulf Prince is a 39 foot, twin screw tug with approximately 600 hp.
The Gulf Prince has a registered tonnage of 14.78 t.

OTHER TUG BOATS AND WORK BOATS

CT Marine has several tug boats and work boats that are ideally suited for deploying containment booms. In addition to the boats shown below, we have three other tugs of similar size to those below. We also have a second dozer/work boat that is being rebuilt and will be available later this year.

CT MARINE BARGES

MBM

MBM 17

The MBM 17 is 130 FT long and 45 feet wide. It has a working deck width of 37.5 feet. It is equipped with a ramp for loading and offloading of equipment and cargo. In addition the MBM 17 is equipped with four foot high steel walls that run the length of both sides of the barge. The MBM 17 is rated to carry 1200 tons of cargo

SKEENA

SKEENA III

The Skeena III is 155 feet long and 44.5 feet wide. It has a working deck width of 37.5 feet. It is equipped with a ramp for loading and offloading of equipment and cargo. The Skeena 3 has four foot high steel walls that run the length of the barge on both sides. The Skeena 3 is rated to carry approximately 1400 tons of cargo.

We operate out Mclean’s shipyard in Prince Rupert to load cargo for upper tuck inlet/Port Simpson and any other areas. There are also two barge landings available to us in Port Simpson.

CT MARINE FACILITIES

CT Marine has a floating operations office located at McLean’s ship yards.
We also have moorage for our smaller tugs at this location.

Also located at McLean’s shipyards is our barge loading facility and lay down yard. CT Marine moors our barges at our barge anchor and can buoys located in Tuck Inlet approximately 2 kilometers north of McLean’s ship yards.

In addition, CT Marine has a 200 foot maintenance barge equipped with a hydraulic crane, a 60 foot boat house and fueling facility located in Tuck Inlet approximately 1.5 kilometers North of McLean’s ship yard. This facility also has a large concrete float and log floats which hold a dry room and maintenance office, lunch room and log bundling, sorting and booming facility.
